Otter football at 5-2 after thrashing Oxbow
BRANDON — The Otter Valley Union High School football team rolled over visiting Oxbow on Saturday, 48-7, to apparently nail down the No. 5 seed in Division III with a 5-2 record overall, 5-1 in the league.
Unofficially as of Sunday morning, the Otters are set to visit No. 4 Mount Abraham (6-2, 6-2 D-III) on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a first-round playoff game.
Brothers Mike and John Winslow sparked OV this past Saturday. John Winslow, the quarterback, passed for 250 yards and completed touchdown passes to Justin Wedin, Joe Scarborough and Eric Stage.
Mike Winslow rushed for more than 200 yards and two scores.
Both also reached milestones on Saturday: John Winslow eclipsed 1,000 yards passing for the season, and Mike Winslow passed the 1,000-yard rushing mark.
Carson Leary rushed for the other OV touchdown, and John Winslow also picked off a pass.
