BRISTOL — The Snake Mountain Cruisers hosted its ninth annual “Better L8 Than Never” car show Sept. 15 in Bristol.
The group raised $2,600 for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta through a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and sponsor donations. The winner of the raffle also donated the winnings back to the nonprofit, which benefits young people with cancer.
There were around 200 cars registered for the show, said Brian Myers, one of the organizers. More than 500 people attended throughout the day. Trophies were awarded in categories such as Top 30, Best of Show, Muffler Rap Muscle Car, Muffler Rap Tuner, Speculator’s Choice, Top Tuner and Host Club Car.  There were also prizes for the Piston Toss, in which adult participants attempted to throw a piston into a tire some distance away. Children competed for prizes in a potato sack race, a Hula-hoop contest and a piston toss of their own.
