Mycogen Seeds repeats as county softball champs

ADDISON COUNTY — Mycogen Seeds for the second straight season emerged as the Rural Softball League’s playoff champion in double-elimination postseason action that concluded on July 28.
The Addison-based team completed the regular season with a 16-2 record and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The team then defeated No. 1 seed Lanpher Construction of Shoreham in the final.
Lanpher Construction won the 10-team league’s regular season title with a 17-1 record. Quenneville Trucking of Leicester took third in the regular season at 14-3, and Goodies Snack Bar of Addison was fourth at 12-6.
After finishing back in the pack at 7-11 in the regular season, the WOKO-FM Dirt Dogs had a strong tournament and finished third in the postseason, with Quenneville taking fourth.
The members of the winning Mycogen team are Jason Russell, Davin Torrey, Connor Gallipo, Heath Paquette, Jeff Gosliga, Kurt Vala, Joe Desabrais, John Buzeman, Paul Desabrais, Matt Desabrais, Matt Huizinga, John Beenen, Eric Wedge and Gerrit Gosliga.
