ACTR expanding its Middlebury-to-Rutland bus service beginning July 8
MIDDLEBURY — Marble Valley Regional Transit District (MVRTD) jointly with Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) will increase public transit bus service between Rutland and Middlebury starting Monday, July 8.
In addition to its regular a.m. and p.m. commuter schedule, the route will now include Monday-through-Friday midday buses leaving Rutland and Middlebury at 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. New Saturday service will depart Rutland and Middlebury at 9:45 a.m., 11 a.m., 4:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. All expanded service is direct, with no need for passengers to transfer in Brandon.
The new Connector schedule was shaped by a recent rider survey and series of public hearings. A grant from VTrans funds the service expansion. “We are happy to be able to respond to riders’ needs and offer increased access to work, shopping and medical appointments,” said Jim Moulton, executive director of ACTR.
“Another benefit of the expansion,” said MVRTD’s Executive Director Minga Dana, “is closing a service gap between Burlington and Rutland Monday through Friday in the evening.”
Schedules will be available on the buses and online at www.actr-vt.org or www.thebus.com. For schedule questions, call ACTR at 388-1946 or MVRTD at 773-3244.
