Women arrested for sale of heroin in Leicester

ADDISON COUNTY — The Vergennes Police Department, in joint operations with the Bristol Police Department, recently conducted undercover purchases of heroin from two women in Addison County.
Both women — Jolee A. Ladd, 39, and Carrie A. Chappell, 43, — on May 22 were subsequently arrested during the execution of a search warrant by the Vergennes, Bristol and Vermont State police and the Addison County Sheriff’s Department at their home at 1454 Fern Lake Road in Leicester.
They were cited to appear in Addison Superior Court, Criminal Division, for the sale of heroin.
Police allege that Ladd sold 16 preparations of heroin, the equivalent of 0.51 grams of heroin, to a confidential informant. Chappell allegedly sold nine preparations of heroin, the equivalent of 287 milligrams of heroin, to a confidential informant.
A third arrest of another woman was also made by Bristol police and the Addison County Sheriff’s Department for the sale of crack cocaine. As previously reported in the Independent, Bristol police and sheriff’s deputies arrested Jill Ryea, 21, of Leicester and cited her for sale of cocaine, possession of marijuana and heroin and violation of conditions of release.
This was the second time a search warrant was executed at this residence during which occupants of the residence were arrested for either the possession, distribution or sale of heroin.
