This is part two in a three-part video series highlighting my late-January interview with the human-like robot Bina48.
Commissioned by futurist and serial entrepreneur Martine Rothblatt, Bina48 is an android physically designed and programmed based on the appearance and personality of Rothblatt’s spouse, Bina Rothblatt (See related story). The first time I visited Bina48 last month, her face recognition software malfunctioned, which meant I had to return a few days later to conduct a full interview (Check out the Q&A here).
The footage below was taken from the full-length interview conducted when I returned to the Terasem Movement Foundation's new headquarters in Lincoln. It's the first part in a video series documenting that interraction.
The high-frequency noise humming away in the background is generated by her 36 motors, which enable her to gesticulate 64 different facial expressions.
