ACSU leader finalists to visit on Wednesday

 
MIDDLEBURY — The two finalists for Addison Central Supervisory Union superintendent will spend an entire day in the district on Wednesday, Dec. 19, culminating in open-session interviews with the full ACSU board that evening.
As first reported by the Addison Independent, a district screening committee has narrowed its choices to two candidates: Burlington School District Superintendent Jeanne M. Collins and John W. Johnson, director of education information services for the state of Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction.
ACSU officials have mapped out the following itineraries for the two candidates:
Collins — arrive at ACSU central office at 7 a.m.; breakfast at 7:15 a.m.; visit to Middlebury Union Middle School, 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.; visit Middlebury Union High School, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.; visit Mary Hogan Elementary School, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; lunch and visit to Bingham Elementary School in Cornwall, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; meet with central office administrators, 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.; meet with central office staff, 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.; break, 2:15 to 3 p.m.; meet with K-12 administrators, 3 to 3:30 p.m.; meet with faculty, staff and community members, 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the MUHS library and MUHS learning lab; dinner, 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.; break until 7:45 p.m. for scheduled interview with ACSU board.
Johnson — arrive at ACSU central office at 7 a.m.; breakfast at 7:15 a.m.; visit Middlebury Union High School, 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.; visit Weybridge Elementary School, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.; visit Middlebury Union Middle School, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; lunch and visit Mary Hogan Elementary School, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; meet with central office staff, 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.; meet with central office administrators, 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.; meet with K-12 administrators, 2:30 to 3: p.m.; meet with faculty, staff and community members, 3:30. to 4:45 p.m. in the MUHS library and MUHS learning lab; dinner, 4:45 to 6:15 p.m.; interview with ACSU board, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“Everyone who meets the candidates will have a chance to fill out a first-impression feedback form,” said ACSU Superintendent Gail Conley.
The ACSU board is scheduled to go into executive session at 8:55 p.m. to deliberate on its final choice for the job. If the board agrees to extend a job offer to one of the finalists, it will do so after the meeting. It will then be up to the candidate to accept the job offer and hammer out final contract details.
