ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police received a report of a road rage incident between two motorists actively taking place on Route 7 in the New Haven at a little after 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29. It was reported that one of the drivers was making slashing motions toward the other driver in the car and also raising his knife through a sunroof while making slashing motions toward the other driver.
Police issued a BOL (be on the lookout) notice for the suspect vehicle. Vergennes police subsequently stopped a vehicle driven by Andre S. Clark, 22, of New Haven, VSP took Clark into custody and troopers cited him for disorderly conduct and released him.
VSP reports that the steak knife in the incident was approximately 8 inches long.

Meanwhile, state police issued a report that they are investigating an incident that occurred Nov. 22. Trooper Busby said that at approximately 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, someone had used a shotgun to shoot and damage a fiber optic line located behind Ruby Brace Road in Starksboro. Comcast reports that 600 homes were affected by the vandalism and the estimated repair cost is $15,000. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the VSP.
Separately, troopers are investigating a rash of thefts from the Bristol Stor-Mor storage units on Burpee Road in Bristol. Police said multiple thefts have occurred since Nov. 16.
Most recently, a victim reported on Nov. 28 that her padlock was cut with bolt cutters, her storage shed rummaged through, and her lock replaced with another, making it appear as though the rental shed had not been not entered.

In other recent activity, troopers from the New Haven VSP barracks:
•  On Nov. 24 at 11:34 p.m. attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding — 65 mph in a 40 mph zone — on Route 125 in Addison. The trooper stopped to turn around to stop the speeding car when the vehicle rapidly accelerated. The vehicle failed to stop when signaled and attempted to elude the trooper, police said. When the vehicle crossed the border into New York the trooper terminated the pursuit and provided information to New York State law enforcement. Police in Ticonderoga, N.Y., stopped the vehicle and took the driver, 19-year-old Michelle Willard of Milton, Vt., into custody. The VSP trooper positively identified Willard as the driver she had been chasing. Willard appeared on her own accord at the New Haven state police barracks at a later date and was subsequently issued a citation and released.
•  On Nov. 29 at 12:25 a.m. were called to a report of a family fight off Route 22A in Addison. Police cited Timothy G. Davis, 52, of Addison for domestic assault.
•  On Nov. 29 at 8:30 a.m. received a report that someone had driven away from the Bristol Country Store on Route 116 in Bristol without paying for $51.20 in gasoline. Anyone with information is asked to contact VSP.
•  Began investigating a burglary to a camp off Fernville Road in Leicester that occurred sometime between the morning of Nov. 12 and the evening of Nov. 29. A white, plastic tabletop water cooler was reported stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact VSP.
•  On Nov. 30 were called to investigate a burglary that occurred at a Mountain Road home in Addison between the evening of Nov. 28 and late afternoon on Nov. 30. A large quantity of copper piping from the home’s heating system was reported stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact VSP.
•  On Nov. 30 at 6:35 p.m. responded to a one-vehicle accident in Lincoln. Police said a Jeep Wrangler was northbound on West Hill Road and entered a sharp downhill curve, when it struck ruts in the snow-covered road causing the driver, Patrick Fifield, 19, of Middlebury, to lose control of the Jeep. The vehicle went off the east side of the road and overturned. Fifield and a passenger did not require medical attention. Police issued Fifield a written warning for driving too fast for conditions.
•  On Dec. 2 at approximately nine minutes after midnight stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Route 17 for erratic operation. Police cited the driver, who identified himself as Charles M. Stinchfield, 22, of Vergennes, for driving under the influence of alcohol.
•  Were notified that between 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 2 someone had shot out five windows in a new barn off Brook Drive in Bristol. Anyone with information is asked to contact VSP.
