Very Merry Middlebury to brighten town this Saturday
MIDDLEBURY — A Very Merry Middlebury, an annual event from the Better Middlebury Partnership, has a great deal in store for Middlebury residents, neighbors, friends, visitors and guests, starting on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Festivities begin in the morning with Santa’s arrival in historic downtown Middlebury via firetruck. Horse-drawn wagon rides are back, and the Hot Chocolate Hut will be open for business. The festivities continue throughout the month with events every Saturday including the popular character holiday breakfast, Saturday, Dec. 8; and a special evening of shopping Thursday, Dec. 13, as Stag and Doe Nightwelcomes shoppers for late shopping, entertainment and good food at local restaurants.
In addition, the popular I Spy game is back — this year, look for the holiday mice in store window displays from December 1-31. Write down the locations of at least six of the 10 mice and place your answers in one of the three gold boxes around town for a chance to win $100 in Middlebury Money. For more information, see the I Spy display in the Vermont Book Shop window.
A full schedule of events — including the annual Holiday Sale at the Middlebury Farmers’ Market, DJ Skate Night, and Santa visits at Maple Landmark and Danforth Pewter, to name a few — can be found in local newspapers and on posters throughout Addison County and onlijne at www.bettermiddleburypartnership.org.
A Very Merry Middlebury is one of several activities of the Better Middlebury Partnership (BMP). The partnership is dedicated to making the greater Middlebury community a better place to live, work and play, through a variety of events aimed bringing the community, its neighbors, visitors and guests to downtown. Other events sponsored by the Better Middlebury Partnership include the annual Chili Festival (March), the Vermont Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival (August), and Spooktacular (October).
