Slideshow: ‘Out of My Mind’

LINCOLN — When Jesus Rosa-Ivey Jr., a student with severe cerebral palsy, entered the fifth grade at Lincoln Community School last fall, his teacher Alice Leeds dedicated a unit of study in her fifth- and sixth-grade class to disability rights and awareness in the United States.
The unit’s culminating component was a play called “Out of My Mind,” which  ran this week at LCS. The students spent months preparing for this play. but before they could perform it, Rosa-Ivey passed away. The students dedicated this year’s play to him.
