ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police are on the lookout for a onetime Middlebury man for allegedly issuing threats.
On Feb. 17 received a report that Kevin Desjardin, 26, was allegedly threatening via Facebook to kill a local woman’s horses and dogs and harm her with a firearm. Police said the messages stem from the woman having knowledge of an incident that took place in Ripton in November of 2011.
Police don’t know Desjardin’s whereabouts, but said he previously resided in an apartment at 87 Jackson Lane in Middlebury. The Addison County State’s Attorney has requested an arrest warrant for Desjardin for allegedly committing two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of disorderly conduct by electronic device.

In other recent activity, VSP:
•  On March 2 stopped  a Toyota Rav4 driven by Judy Forrest, 26, of New Haven for driving 67 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 7 in New Haven. The trooper cited Forrest for a criminal count of driving with a suspended license.
•  On March 3 at 11:06 p.m. stopped a Volvo SUV driven by Jason T Hyjek, 34, of Shoreham on Leicester-Whiting Road in Whiting for driving 64 mph in a 50 mph zone. The trooper cited Hyjek for a criminal count of driving with a suspended license.
•  On March 5 at 7:28 a.m. responded to a one-car accident on Big Hollow Road in Starksboro. Police said that Michael G. Violette, 31, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., was northbound in a Ford Focus traveling down a sloping right curve when he lost control of the car and it struck a tree. Violette was uninjured; the Focus sustained moderate front-end damage. The Starksboro Fire Department and first responders assisted at the collision. Police mailed Violette a warning for failing to maintain control of the vehicle.
•  On March 5 at approximately 1 p.m. were dispatched to one-vehicle crash on Route 22A in Addison south of Grandview Lane. Police said Nicky Courville, 42, of Burlington was driving a 2009 Toyota TC southbound when he tried to pass another vehicle, changed his mind and swerved back into the southbound lane and lost control of the Toyota. The car left the road and hit several mailboxes and a utility pole, severely damaging the vehicle and causing a power outage for up to two hours at nearby homes.
Courville was transported to Porter Hospital because of his injuries, and was released later that afternoon. Any witnesses to this crash are encouraged to call Trooper Cathy Cappetta at 802-388-4919.
•  On March 5 were notified that at approximately 1:30 p.m. a white Subaru driven by a young female had gone off Hardscrabble Road in Bristol and damaged property on three homes’ lawns. This subject then left the scene without notifying the residents or leaving her name and contact information for them. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact VSP in New Haven at 802-388-4919.
•  On March 5 at 9:30 p.m. stopped a suspicious motor vehicle on Hamilton Road in Weybridge. Troopers ended up citing the driver, George Niles Devoid, 26, of Salisbury, with possession of heroin and marijuana and driving with a suspended license and lodged Devoid and set bail at $5,000.
•  On March 5 at 11:08 p.m. stopped a car for speeding on Richville Road in Shoreham. Police said there was a four-year-old child in the car and not buckled in to a car seat, and that the driver, Jason Daniels, 28, of Brandon, was suspected of driving under the influence. Daniels was processed at the New Haven barracks, where his blood alcohol content tested at 0.104 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent. Police cited Daniels for DUI and endangering a child.
