Vermont State Police Log: Domestic assault call ends with citations
ADDISON COUNTY — On Thursday, Dec. 15, at about 9:25 p.m. Vermont State Police responded to a domestic disturbance call off Route 22A in Bridport. While the troopers were en route, the male subject, identified as Kevin Comes, 38, of Bridport, departed in a vehicle.
The 33-year-old female victim reported that Comes had attempted to get a gun and threatened to kill her and himself. She also said Comes was intoxicated.
Trooper Michael Notte took a description of Comes’ car and sent out an alert to police to be on the lookout for it. Trooper Warner spotted the vehicle a couple miles north of the incident on Rattlin Bridge Road, stopped the car and processed Comes for driving under the influence, third offense. Comes was also cited for domestic assault. He was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center on $5,000 bail.
In other recent activity, VSP:
• On Dec. 11 at approximately 1:51 a.m. stopped a car driven by Edward Wildasin, 26, of Vergennes on Route 7 in Charlotte for traveling at 92 mph in a 50 mph zone. Police said investigation revealed that Wildasin’s blood alcohol content was 0.085 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent. The trooper cited Wildasin for driving under the influence.
• On Saturday, Dec. 17, responded to Bristol, where troopers learned that a physical altercation had taken place at a party the previous evening. Witnesses reported to police that Darin Snyder, 40, of Bristol had become intoxicated with other guests and begun a verbal altercation with two of the females at the party. It was reported that the verbal altercation became physical when Snyder left the residence and retrieved a loaded firearm, making threats to subjects in the residence. The firearm was secured and no injuries were sustained. Snyder was lodged at Marble Valley on $10,000 bail.
• On Dec. 20 received a report of the theft of approximately 1,800 U.K. pounds (which police said was the equivalent of $2,814 U.S. dollars) from a private residence in Bridport. The victim initially noted the money was missing on Oct. 24 but did delayed in notifying authorities. The victim felt she may have misplaced the money, which she had hidden. After having looked through her house thoroughly she realized she had not misplaced the money and determined it was most likely stolen. Troopers are pursuing leads.
