MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police said on Oct. 9 they anticipate citing six area juveniles this week on unlawful mischief charges in connection with graffiti discovered on town property in recent days. Graffiti included a phone number spray painted on the old mill by the water fall, the word “BALTAZAR” painted on the back side of the Battell Bridge facing the river along with the letter “A” with a circle around it, and another letter “A” spray painted on the front side of the bridge. 
Police said they interviewed a youth who admitted to spray-painting the town pool. The deep end of the empty town pool was covered in graffiti, according to police.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Received a report of a woman allegedly slashing another woman’s car tire while the car was parked off Park Street on Oct. 4.
•  Investigated a report of a man driving under the influence of marijuana on South Street Extension on Oct. 3.
•  Destroyed three marijuana pipes found in a vehicle parked in the Marble Works complex on Oct. 3. Police said they issued a warning to the driver.
•  Served a no-trespass order on a Middlebury Union High School student who was being disruptive after classes were over on Oct. 4.
•  Helped resolve a family dispute at a Halladay Road home on Oct. 4.
•  Investigated a report of suspicious activity at a North Pleasant Street residence on Oct. 4. Police said the resident alleged that someone had been entering her home with a key and slightly altering things, such as opening the closet doors and changing her TV channels. Police said they have advised the landlord to change the locks on the residence.
•  Responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident, with minor injuries, on College Street on Oct. 5.
•  Ticketed an MUHS student for being a minor in possession of tobacco on school grounds on Oct. 5.
•  Responded to a reported break-in at an East Main Street residence on Oct. 5. Police said the victim alleged that a person broke in and sprayed him with pepper spray. The matter remains under investigation.
•  Responded to a truancy complaint at MUHS on Oct. 6.
•  Cleared some skateboarders from the parking lot of a Court Street business on Oct. 6.
•  Cited Samantha E. Morin, 34, of Shoreham for retail theft, following an incident at the Hannaford Supermarket on Court Street on Oct. 6.
•  Helped a local woman calm her ailing husband on Oct. 6.
•  Investigated a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles on Merchants Row on Oct. 7.
•  Received a report that someone had struck a car parked in the Mister Ups Restaurant lot off Bakery Lane on Oct. 8.
•  Served a no-trespass order on a man who had allegedly left a disturbing message on a local woman’s Facebook page on Oct. 7.
•  Cited a Vergennes man for driving with a suspended license on North Pleasant Street on Oct. 8.
•  Responded to a noise complaint at a North Pleasant Street residence on Oct. 9.
•  Investigated a vandalism complaint at Middlebury College on Oct. 9. Police said four men allegedly pulled screens from two windows at the college’s Bowker House off Adirondack View.
•  Assisted a local woman unable to control her son on Oct. 9.
