Vermont State Police Log: Toolbox forced open, tools stolen in Orwell

ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of approximately $4,000 in tools from a truck parked at a private residence off North Orwell Road in Orwell on Sept. 11.
Police said the assailant pried open a diamond plate toolbox to get at the tools. Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Trooper Andrew Leise at 802-388-4919.
In other recent activity, VSP:
•  On Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. were called to investigate the burglary and theft of $300 from an Oak Lane home in Bristol. The perpetrator was described as a male in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 5 foot 10 inches to six feet tall. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Haven State Police barracks at 802-388-4919.
•  On Sept. 8 at around 10:45 p.m. stopped a vehicle driven on Route 30 in Whiting by Jack Ryea, 21, of Middlebury. Police cited Ryea for possession of marijuana.
•  On Sept. 12 at around 5:45 p.m. stopped a vehicle driven on Route 7 in Salisbury by Patrick White for defective equipment. Police cited White, 20, of Brandon, for possession of marijuana.
•  On Sept. 12 at almost 10 p.m. stopped a vehicle driven on Route 116 in Bristol by Francis F. Valinquette Jr. of Salisbury for having expired registration tags. Police cited Valinquette with a criminal count of driving with a suspended license.
