Vergennes Police Log: City police deal with a variety of incidents

VERGENNES — Vergennes police handled a variety of incidents between Aug. 8 and 14, including arguments, traffic problems, medical issues and one assault case in which they said the evidence proved too slim to make an arrest.
Between those dates, city police:
•  On Aug. 8 went to the city green to find a man who had been reported earlier to be jumping in front of cars on Route 7. They found a homeless New Mexico resident who said he was depressed and experiencing mental health problems, and police took him to Porter Hospital to meet with the Counseling Service of Addison County.
