BRISTOL — Clayton Howard Holcomb, 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

SHELBURNE — Amanda Anne (Breuhaus) Andres was born March 25, 1913, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the fourth child of Edward and Amanda (Hoelke) Breuhaus. She was known for most of her life as “Lovey” because, as her father declared, her name meant “worthy to be loved.” She lived up to her name.
She left her body to medical science.
NORTH FERRISBURGH — Mrs. Mary Ellen Rotax, 76, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at the Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington, from complications of breast cancer. She was born April 21, 1933, the ninth child of 10 to Arthur G. and Julia (Kelsey) LaFountain, in Cornwall.
Per Mrs. Rotax’s request, no calling hours or funeral services are available. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
NAPLES, Fla. — Wilson “Bill” Hack Jr., 77, a former Brandon, Vt., resident, died Dec. 7, 2009, at his home in Naples, with his loving wife by his side.
A memorial gathering was held Saturday, Dec. 19, at the home of his daughter Lorrie in Naples.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
He was born in Rutland, Vt., on June 15, 1932. He was the son of Madeline and Wilson Hack Sr. His mother later married Louis Altobell, who played a significant role as his stepfather.
LEICESTER JUNCTION — Oscar Donald Mussaw, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at his home in Leicester Junction.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Private burial, with military honors, will take place in the family lot at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon. The Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church, will officiate. A “Celebration of His Life” service will be announced at a later date.
CLERMONT, Fla. — Florence Edna (Ladeau) O’Bryan, 83, of Clermont, Fla., died Dec. 10, 2009, of Alzheimer’s-related complications.
There will be no public funeral service or viewing at this time. A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation will be appreciated.
She was born in Bristol, Vt., March 21, 1926, the daughter of William and Louisa Ladeau.
She is survived by her husband, Vern O’Bryan. On Dec. 18, they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
