Paul "Larry Cyr Jr.

VERGENNES — Paul “Larry” Cyr Jr., 72, died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the home of his daughter in Middlebury surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 25, 1946, in Middlebury, Vt., the son of Paul L. Cyr, Sr. and Jean (Peck) Cyr.

Paul was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School class of ’65.

He was a United States Army veteran serving during Vietnam.

Paul had many interests, including photography and HAM radio, he sought truth and knowledge, and always enjoyed his time with family and friends.

John P. Cousino Memorial Service

BRISTOL — A memorial mass will be held for John P. Cousino, who passed away on January 28, 2018.

The service will be held at St. Ambrose Church, Main St., Bristol, at 10 a.m., on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018. A celebration of life luncheon will follow immediately in the church hall.◊

Jason Bacon II

NEW HAVEN — Jason Bacon passed away peacefully on July 14th, 2018, at the log cabin home he built, loved and lived in with his wife Nina. Jason was born on July 22nd, 1934, in New York City and grew up in Connecticut with his two siblings, Patsy and Bruce. At 15 years old Jason worked as a carpenter to help fund his own education. At 17 he gained a scholarship to Yale University where he graduated in 1956.

Richard Yandow, Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — Richard Yandow of Charlotte, Vermont passed away this week in the arms of his loving wife Patricia Yandow.  Richard, the son of Harris and Elizabeth Yandow, brother of Joyce Donnelly and father of children Timothy (wife-Gail), Mark and Beth (husband-Dan Harding) Yandow and his 4 grandchildren, Jacklyn Deyo (husband-Will), David, Skylar and Morgan Harding. Great grandchildren Avery, Wyatt and Oliver Deyo.

Kyle R. Myers, 33, Vergennes

VERGENNES — Kyle R. Myers, 33, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

He was born January 8, 1985, in Burlington, Vt., the son of Gordon and (Jeanette) Myers and Pamela and (Guy) Cousino. Kyle graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 2003.

Todd E. Norris 45, Shoreham

SHOREHAM — Todd E. Norris 45, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2018.

He was born in Middlebury Aug. 21, 1972, the son of Gary and Kathleen (Forgues) Norris.

Todd was employed by Pike Industries as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed Country music, fishing, animals, working on cars, socializing with friends and having a good sense of humor.

Tracy Lea Blodgett Corbett, 57, Ferrisburgh

FERRISBURGH — The world became at least ten degrees colder and unfathomably less fun on July 5, 2018, when Tracy Lea Blodgett Corbett, 57, left this realm of the living.

Born Dec. 1, 1960, Tracy left an imprint on all she met throughout her school years in New Canaan Conn., Brookfield Conn., Cedar Crest College and University of Vermont. She once landed in Alaska, living within a wilderness that was a fierce contender for her powerful spirit, and facing her own tragedy with the loss of her first husband, Jeff Rousseau.

Todd Norris

MIDDLEBURY — Todd Norris of Middlebury died Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 10-11 a.m. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury followed by a memorial service starting at 11 a.m. A full obituary will follow in a later edition of the Addison Independent.

Robert Edward Taylor

BRISTOL — Robert Edward Taylor Jr., 72, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the comfort of his own home with wife Kathy by his side.

 He was born August 30, 1945, in Middlebury, the son of Robert and Sadie Barry Taylor Sr. He had his own auto and glass shop, he drove truck for many years, and he was a jack-of-all-trades.He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Marie Dargie Sperry

MIDDLEBURY — Marie (Dargie) Sperry, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 27, at the Residence at Otter Creek with her son Brian and dear friend Curtis Willey by her side.

Born and raised in Malden, Ma., Marie always knew she wanted to marry a farmer. After graduating Wheelock College with a teaching degree, Marie was offered a job in Vermont as Middlebury's first kindergarten teacher. It was there she met, and roomed with, the first-grade teacher, Ellen Burgess (Young). They remained best friends for over 60 years.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
