BETTY WARNER

PARIS, Tenn. — Elizabeth “Betty” M. (Gregory) Warner, 69, of Paris, Tenn., formerly of New Haven, Vt., passed away unexpectedly in her home May 4, 2016.

Betty was born on March 19, 1947, in Middlebury, Vt., to Leonard and Evelyn (Forrest) Gregory. She attended schools in Salisbury and graduated from Middlebury High School, class of 1965.

WARREN WHITCOMB

NEW HAVEN — Warren Whitcomb passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2016, at his home in New Haven, surrounded by family.

He was born Nov. 9, 1928, in Manchester, Conn., the son of Lewis and Vera (Davis) Whitcomb.

Warren farmed for 30 years in New Haven. Warren was active in town government, serving as a Lister, on the Planning Commission, the Selectboard and Mt. Abe School Board. He was a charter member of the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department, and treasurer, filing for their 501(c)3 status.

BRIDPORT — A graveside service for Douglas S. Latreille, who died Feb. 16, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. ◊

LAURA 'COOGIE' BAKER

LINCOLN — Funeral services for Laura Lee “Coog” Baker, formerly of Lincoln, who died March 13, 2016, will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at the United Church of Lincoln. Internment will follow at the Maple Cemetery in Lincoln.

There will be a celebration of Coogie’s life at the Bristol American Legion Post 19 immediately after.

MARCELLE BOLDUC

NEW HAVEN — Marcelle Madeline Bolduc, 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury following a brief illness.

She was born July 27, 1924, in Bridport. She was the daughter of Wilfred and Marie (Faubert) Laframboise.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Vergennes and together with her husband helped operate their farm in New Haven since 1941.

MIDDLEBURY — Robert C. Hicks, 90, of Middlebury died peacefully at 12:52 p.m., Monday, May 2, 201, at Wellbrooke of Wabash in Wabash, Ind. He was born July 26, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Robert C. and May (Mixsell) Hicks.

NEW HAVEN — Judy L. (Rougier) Kemp, 55, of New Haven passed away peacefully in her home on April 26, 2016, at 5 p.m. surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was born on July 28, 1960, in Rutland. The daughter of Arlene (Dunakin) Rougier and the late Frederick Joseph Rougier.

GEORGE LACKEY

MIDDLEBURY — A kind and gentle man, George Lackey, died Friday, April 29, 2016, at the age of 94, with his daughter’s hand on his shoulder and many members of his family at his bedside. A­­­ resident of East Middlebury, George’s dry humour and unfailing courtesy and warmth made him a favourite at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation, where he had lived for the previous five years and where he died.

LOU LANGEVIN

MIDDLEBURY — After a long, brave battle with cancer, Louis “Lou” T. Langevin passed away on May 2, 2016. Thanks to the wonderful Addison County Home Health Care and Hospice team, and joined by loved ones, Louis was able to cross over in the comfort of his home.

PHOEBE MORSE

MIDDLEBURY — Phoebe Gobie Morse died on Jan. 13, 2016, surrounded by her family. Phoebe was married to Harold Wilson Morse, known as Sam (1922-2006), for nearly 60 years. They raised seven children through good times and bad with remarkable grace and integrity.

A Mass for Phoebe will be held on May 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s in Middlebury, followed by a reception. The family thanks Addison County Home Health and Hospice and the Addison County Hospice Volunteer Services of Middlebury for their tireless, compassionate care. ◊

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
