RITA FALLON

MIDDLEBURY — Rita Ann (Severy) Fallon, 71, of Weybridge went to be with God on Dec. 26, 2014, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Rita was born on Dec. 14, 1943, the daughter of Elmer “Curley” and Laura (Wetmore ) Severy. On April 25, 1964, she married John Fallon in Brandon, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Rita grew up in Sudbury and graduated from Brandon High School, class of 1961.

FRANCES HUTCHINS

FREMONT, N.H. — After accomplishing everything she wanted in life while spending countless happy times with her family, Frances “TeeDee” Wakefield Hutchins passed away peacefully at her home in Fremont, N.H., on Dec. 17, 2014. In October she had celebrated her 90th birthday.

MARY ‘BOOTSIE’ MORRIS

WEST FERRISBURGH — Beloved by all who knew her, Mary Derby Morris died peacefully, in the loving arms of her caregivers and family, at home on Dec. 28 in West Ferrisburgh, Vermont. She was 98 years old.

WHITING — Linda J. O’Brien, 62, a resident of Whiting since 1992, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at her home.

Born July 28, 1952, in Burlington, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Mary Jane (Higgins) Buttles. She was a graduate of Champlain Valley Union High School and attended college at Johnson College.

DAVID REISING

CORNWALL — David K. Reising, 61, a resident of Cornwall for the past 8 years, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at his home.

Born Jan. 23, 1953, in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of the late Robert Reising and Gloria (DeMichael) Reising. He was a graduate of  Lyman Hall High School, class of 1971. Before moving to Cornwall he was a resident of Goshen, Conn. He was an artificial inseminator with Genex Cooperative Inc. for 25 years.

GERALD RUSSELL

COLCHESTER/FERRISBURGH — Gerald W. Russell, 78, of Colchester, formerly of Ferrisburgh, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014.

He was born Nov. 3, 1936, in New York City, the son of Wilfred and Anna Russell.

He is survived by his children, Diane (Don) Edson, Susan (Bruce) Anderson, Mike (Sara) Russell, Shelly (Scott) Young and Jerri-Lyn (Tony) Reynolds; eight grandchildren; a brother, Joe Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wives, Carol Bush Russell and Bert Larrow Russell, and a sister, Agnes Stearns.

LINDA WHITE

VERGENNES — Linda May (Clark) White, 62, of Vergennes died Dec. 20, 2014, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 28, 1952, in Middlebury, the daughter of Charles and Arlene (Dow) Clark.

She married Ronald White on Feb. 23, 1978. He predeceased her on Dec. 31, 2008.

She is survived by her son, Scott William Whitney and wife Mary of Benson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents and six siblings.

RONALD ZSCHALER

MIDDLEBURY — Ronald A. Zschaler, 79, of Middlebury and formerly of Warren passed away after a brief illness on Dec. 26 at Porter Medical Center.

He was born in New York City on Dec. 26, 1935, the son of William G. Zschaler and Maria Teresa (Guiler) Zschaler.

He moved to Warren in the mid-1970s. At the time of his death, he was an active real estate broker in the Mad River Valley.

He is survived by his sister, Clara; brother, William; and many friends and colleagues.

A memorial service will be scheduled.

ROBERTA HUMISTON

LOWELL, Vt./ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Roberta E. Humiston, 75, of Lowell, Vt. and St. Cloud, Fla., died Dec. 17, 2014, in Kissimmee, Fla., after a short illness.

She was born March 30, 1939, in Colchester, Vt., the daughter of Wendell and Ella (Warren) White.

She spent winters in Florida with her loving partner, Martin Trombly. Those who knew her said she enjoyed barbecues with family, miniature golf, gardening, crocheting, traveling and her home in Florida.

MICHAEL MORGAN

MIDDLEBURY — Michael G. Morgan, 55, of Middlebury died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

He was born May 13, 1959, in Middlebury, the son of Ray and Yvonne Morgan.

He graduated from Middlebury Union High School and Champlain College with an accounting degree. His relatives say he enjoyed doing art work and spending time with his family, and that he was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Browns fan.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
