Benjamin Donnelly

NORTH FERRISBURGH — Benjamin “Chuck” “Chubby” Donnelly of North Ferrisburgh went to be with his Lord March 28, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ferrisburgh Fire Department in care of David Grippin, PO Box 25, North Ferrisburgh, VT 05473, or St. Peter’s Restoration Fund, 85 South Maple St., Vergennes, VT 05491.

A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, March 31, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes.

Lorraine Fountain

RENSSELAER, N.Y. — Lorraine Marie Alice Woesthoff Fountain, age 75 years, of Van Rensselaer Heights passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany surrounded by her loving family.

The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no evening calling hours.

Contributions in her memory may be made to any children’s organization of your choice.

She was born in Flushing, N.Y., and was a resident of Rensselaer for over 10 years.

Kenneth Moorby

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Kenneth R. Moorby, formerly of Moriah, N.Y., and West Addison, Vt., passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at his daughter Nancy’s home in Schenectady.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday morning at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery in West Addison, Vt., in May.

Naomi Norton

ADDISON — Naomi M. Norton, 93, of Addison died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare after a brief illness.

Services will be held Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Middlebury. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. Calling hours will be Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.

Kenneth O'Meara

MIDDLEBURY — Kenneth “Bumpa” O’Meara, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, March 27, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

There will be no visiting hours. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to the Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to thank the dedicated and hardworking staff in the Lemon Fair unit of the nursing home. They took exceptional care of our Bumpa and cared for him deeply.

Ronald Selleck

MIDDLEBURY — Ronald Arthur Selleck, 72, of Middlebury died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, from a severe attack of pancreatitis. He was surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. The Rev. William Beaudin, pastor, will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will take place at a later date in Middlebury Cemetery.

Winston Leno

EAST MIDDLEBURY — Winston E. “Wink” Leno, 75, a lifelong resident of Middlebury, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at his home following a long illness.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, at Prospect Cemetery, East Middlebury, with the Rev. Jill Robinson, pastor, East Middlebury United Methodist Church, officiating.

TROY — Barbara J. Poquette, 70, of Troy died March 20, 2010, in Barton.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at the First Baptist Church in Starksboro. Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond.

Clara Bailey

DALEWOOD, Miss. — Clara Jean Gentry Bailey, 77, died peacefully and quietly Sunday evening, March 14, 2010, in the comfort of her home, at Dalewood, with her loving husband of 23 years, Roy, at her side.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Meridian, with the Rev. Tom Sykes officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in to the First Christian Church or to a charity of one’s choice.

She was born April 15, 1932, the daughter of late Robert L. and Clarinda Thornton Gentry of Meridian.

Diane Bauer

CUMBERLAND, R.I. — Diane P. (Taylor) Bauer, 80, of Cumberland and formerly of Middlebury, Vt., died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland. She was the wife of Charles A. Bauer Jr.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
