Christine Chaloux

SOUTH STARKSBORO — Christine Marion Chaloux, 47, died Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010, at her home in South Starksboro.
She was born June 11, 1963, in Burlington, the daughter of Amil and Dorothy (Foley) Chaloux.
She is survived by two children, Edward A. Cherrier of South Starksboro and Adessa Mae Boiselle of Arkansas; four sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol.

MIDDLEBURY — Rachel E. Connor, 39, of Middlebury died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church, with the Rev. Andrew Nagy-Benson officiating. A reception followed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Thea and Ava Connor’s college funds, in care of Joseph and Jennifer Smith, 12 Meadow Way, Middlebury, VT 05753.

Born Sept. 7, 1971 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she was the daughter of Richard Harper and Chyrl Skinner.

Nora Cram

VERGENNES — Nora L. Cram, 62, of Vergennes died Sept. 4, 2010, after a long illness.

She was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Lincoln, the daughter of Roy and Viola Cram.

She worked for many years at the Dog Team Tavern. She lived in Vergennes for the past several years.

She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Baslow of Bristol Notch and Connie Grant of East Middlebury; and a special friend, Tom Thiess of Vergennes.

She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Cram, and her parents.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at Maple Cemetery in Lincoln.

EAST MIDDLEBURY — Constance Gerow Fitzpatrick of East Middlebury and Anchorage, Alaska, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Hospital with her beloved husband and family at her side.

Sally Johnson

MIDDLEBURY — Sally West Johnson of Middlebury, a well-known Vermont editor and freelance writer, as well as avid horsewoman and world traveler, died Wednesday night, Sept. 8, 2010, after waging a 12-year-long and valiant battle with liver disease. She was 60.

The family will hold memorial services for Sally in early October.

Contributions in her memory may be made to either the John Graham Shelter for the Homeless, Vergennes, VT 05491, or the Spring Hill Horse Rescue, 175 Middle Road, Clarendon, VT 05759.

Donna Moses

SALEM, Ore./ HIGHGATE, Vt. — Donna Lee Cavanaugh Moses, 53, died Aug. 15, 2010, at Salem (Ore.) Hospital.

She was born March 16, 1957, in Burlington, Vt.

She spent most of her young years living with her aunt and uncle, Arnold and Betty Bourdeau of Highgate, Vt. She then moved to Salem, Ore., in the early 1970s to live.

She leaves her uncle Arnold and aunt Betty; two half-brothers, Craig and Hubert Dumas of Bristol; a half-sister, Arlene Denis; three cousins; and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline Williams

MIDDLEBURY — Pauline V. Rocheleau Williams of Middlebury passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Sept. 7 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Middlebury, with the Rev. William R. Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant.

EDDINGTON, Maine/ORWELL, Vt. — Angelina H. Stowe, 100, of Eddington, Maine, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Aug. 31, 2010, at a local health-care facility.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 4, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, Maine, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Shoreham at a later date.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
