Evelyn Warren of Ludlow

 

LUDLOW — Evelyn Warren of Ludlow died peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Starksboro on April 27, 2011.

She was born March 7, 1922, in Ludlow, daughter of Raymond F. Ellison and Goldie (Jewett) Ellison. She attended schools in Grahamsville and Ludlow. She was married to LeRoy (Lee) Warren of Springfield on Aug. 27, 1949, in Lake Placid, N.Y.

WEST ADDISON — Robert John Zazzali, 78, died at his home on April 28, 2011, after a long illness.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1932, in Prospect Park, N.J., and attended school in Fairlawn, N.J.

Ralph Gillen Aulis

 

WILDER — Ralph Gillen Aulis, 88, died April 28, 2011, at the Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder.

He was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Hanover, N.H., the son of Lewis Hiram and Annie Josephine (Gillen) Aulis. He graduated from Hartford High School before enlisting with the United States Navy during World War II, serving as a machinist in the South Pacific.

Roberta A. “Bobbie” Bertolet

 

MIDDLEBURY — Roberta A. “Bobbie” Bertolet, longtime resident of Abington, Pa., and Lake Dunmore, Salisbury, died April 21, 2011, in her new home in Middlebury. She was 88.  She was the beloved wife of William H. “Bill” Bertolet III. 

She was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Medford, Mass., to the late Charlotte (Adams) and Walter E. Richardson. She graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Mass., and Damon Hall in Boston and was assistant manager of Shawmut Bank in Boston until her marriage June 12, 1948.

Margaret S. Clark

 

CORNWALL — A memorial service for Margaret S. Clark, 72, who died March 2, 2011, at Porter Hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Cornwall Congregational Church with the Rev. Mary Kay Cavazos officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Cornwall.

Memorial donations may be made to Addison County Humane Society, 236 Boardman St., Middlebury, VT 05753.

Danielle L. Morin

 

SALISBURY — Danielle L. Morin, 27, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 27, 2011, in Burlington.

She was born Jan. 20, 1984, in Burlington, the daughter of Kirk Wool and Diane (Morin) Many.

Her family says she loved to cook and enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her son. She was involved with the Parent Child Center in earlier years.

John Desautels

 

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — It is with heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of loving father, husband, and friend John Desautels on April 11, 2011.

Born in Middlebury, Vt., on March 5, 1932, John moved to Lake Oswego in 1976 after a wonderful 22 years serving in the United States Army. Having fought in both the Korean and Vietnam wars he retired with numerous citations, badges and medals. Not one to be idle he then started a second career running a small fruitful independent trucking operation in Lake Oswego for another 18 years.

Ronald Clifford Barker Sr.

 

BRANDON — The memorial service “In Celebration of the Life of Ronald Clifford Barker Sr.,” 63, who died April 16, 2011, was held Thursday, April 21, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

The Rev. Albert “Skip” Baltz, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiated.

A private burial will take place at a later date.

Following the ceremony the family received friends back at the home for a time of fellowship and remembrance.

Thomas P. Baker

 

BRISTOL — Thomas P. Baker, 56, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home in Bristol.

He was born Dec. 8, 1954, in Colchester, the son of James and Bernadette L’ecuyer Baker Sr.

He was employed for 30 years at Agri-Mark/Cabot in Middlebury.

Relatives say he enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family, watching Red Sox and Celtics games with his son, going for walks and picnics with his daughter, and having coffee hour at 4 p.m. with his wife.

Ronald Clifford Barker

 

BRANDON — Ronald Clifford Barker, 63, of Brandon died Saturday, April 16, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Proctor on March 10, 1948. He was the son of Robert and Georgianna (Bushey) Barker. He received his education at Mount St. Joseph in Rutland.

He drove truck for many years for Wilson Trucking until being forced to retire due to ill health in 1991.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
