Downtown Traffic
Have you ever tried to drive through downtown on any given day? Why is it that it takes so long to get through? I know of one reason. At the junction of Main St and Merchants Row, nobody likes to take turns. Everyone is in a rush to get to their destination before someone else gets there and takes their spot. I honestly believe that there should be a 3 way stop at that junction. The town says no to a light being there because traffic will be backed up, but what about the traffic that backs up already? I believe a 3 way stop will enable better traffic flow, because then everyone will be allowed a turn. Plus it would be safer for pedestrians as well. We don't need any more crosswalks, and we certainly don't need to lose parking spots either. (Like the ones they are taking away from the post office.) We need better traffic control. What is the point of trying to make the town more "pretty" when you have backed up traffic everywhere? Come on people, lets make this a reality. Let's make the traffic flow better through town.

Middlebury traffic
To bad the bypass was never built. I try to avoid driving thru Middlebury as much as possible. I can't imagine trying to shop there. How much business do merchants lose the way things are now? Bet there are a few people wishing they had put the bypass in years ago instead of doing a "study" on it.
Middlebury Traffic
Here's a thought...don't drive down Merchants Row! I don't, and don't have any trouble!
Middlebury Traffic
It's kind of hard to NOT drive down merchants row or downtown for that matter. My big concern, is when I have to get to the hospital, and that's the only route there! How many lives are in jeapordy while waiting in middlebury traffic en route to Porter? Personally, I had a FEDEX truck pull right out in front of me today at the intersection by the post office, and he was supposed to yield! The traffic is nuts, they need a light or alternate route. Something bad is going to become of this.

If your life is in that much jeporady that waiting 15 minutes in traffic is going to kill you, then why dont you just call an ambulance??? That is what they are the for? And they have a tendancy to be able to get through Middlebury Traffic much easier then the regualr commuter.
