MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Caleb Burkle, 30, of Salisbury for driving under the influence, third offense, following a stop on Court Street Extension on Jan. 19.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Assisted an individual on Merchants Row who was receiving annoying phone solicitations on Jan. 14.

•  Responded to a report of a drunken person in the Little Pond Road area on Jan. 14. The person was turned over to a sober friend, police said.

•  Received a report of someone threatening a student on Mary Hogan Elementary School grounds on Jan. 14.

•  Investigated an attempted burglary at Mike’s Auto on Elm Street on Jan. 14.

•  Removed a cow that had gotten onto Blake Roy Road on Jan. 14.

•  Received a report of a youth threatening another youth in the Deerfield Lane area on Jan. 14.

•  Investigated a report of a man sleeping in the woods off Seymour Street on Jan. 15.

•  Responded to a reported untimely death at a Twin Circles residence on Jan. 15. Police said the deceased, Ana Martinez-Lage, 49, died of natural causes.

•  Responded to a report of one student striking another student on Middlebury Union High School grounds on Jan. 15.

•  Assisted Porter Hospital officials with an unruly patient on Jan. 15.

•  Were informed of the theft of an Xbox game system from a Main Street location on Jan. 15.

•  Arrested Patrick Eason, 31, of Middlebury on an outstanding warrant on Jan. 15.

•  Responded to a reported fight between a mother and her daughter in the Fields Road area on Jan. 15.

•  Searched for, but could not locate, an alleged drunk driver in the Quarry Road area on Jan. 15.

•  Took a suicidal man from the Juniper Lane area to Porter Hospital on Jan. 15.

•  Took into protective custody a drunken man located in the Court Street area on Jan. 15.

•  Responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a Skyline Lane residence on Jan. 16.

•  Investigated a deer jacking report in the Elm Street area on Jan. 17. Police contacted the Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife to take over the case.

•  Cited Audrey Gridley, 37, of Bristol for driving under the influence, first offense, following a stop on North Pleasant Street on Jan. 18.

•  Cited Mallory Anderson, 22, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, first offense, following a stop on Buttolph Drive on Jan. 18.

•  Investigated an incident in the Duane Court area in which a threatening message was allegedly left for police on Jan. 18.

•  Assisted a local woman in getting a temporary restraining order on Jan. 18.

•  Cited Samuel Arnold, 19, of Topsfield, Mass., for being a minor in possession of alcohol on Ridgeline Drive on Jan. 18.

•  Responded, with Middlebury Fire Department officials, to a reported fire involving a Casella Waste Management truck on Exchange Street on Jan. 19.

•  Warned an individual in violation of the town’s open container ordinance on Shannon Street on Jan. 20.

•  Issued Court Diversion paperwork to a juvenile who was in possession of alcohol on North Pleasant Street on Jan. 20.

•  Turned over to Middlebury College Public Safety a drunken student found in the Washington Street Extension neighborhood on Jan. 20.

•  Warned some men who were in violation of the town’s open container ordinance on South Main Street on Jan. 20.

•  Were called to help Porter Hospital officials with an unruly patient on Jan. 20.

•  Assisted Middlebury College Public Safety with a drunken student on Jan. 20.

•  Responded to a domestic disturbance at a Case Street residence on Jan. 20. The Counseling Service of Addison County was brought in to assist.
