Two arrested in Bristol nursing home robbery

BRISTOL — Bristol police on July 5 arrested two Monkton men and charged them with armed robbery after they allegedly forced their way into a Bristol nursing home and made off with narcotics on July 4.

Police arrested Timothy J. Boardman, 42, and Alec T. Morse, 20.

Authorities allege that the two suspects, armed with tire irons, grabbed an employee as she was leaving the Living Well Care Home on Maple Street at around 10 p.m. and forced her to re-enter the facility.

Once inside, Boardman and Morse allegedly demanded drugs and cash from the home.

City police investigate death of robbery suspect

VERGENNES — The investigation into the death of a 34-year-old John Graham Shelter resident during a Sept. 28 armed robbery should be complete no later than by the end of next week, said Vergennes Police Chief George Merkel.

Yemalla Sprauve, 34, died of undetermined causes after allegedly assaulting a male clerk at the Champlain Farms convenience store shortly after 4 a.m. on the 28th.

Vergennes woman dies while robbing store

VERGENNES — A 34-year-old resident of the John Graham Emergency Homeless Shelter died early Wednesday morning from unknown causes after she tried to rob the nearby Champlain Farms convenience store at knifepoint, Vergennes police said.

Local receives 10-year jail term

MIDDLEBURY — The U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont confirmed on May 5 that Addison County resident Anthony Carosella, 26, was sentenced to 120 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and 100 grams or more of heroin, conspiracy to obstruct commerce by armed robbery, and conspiracy to burglarize pharmacies.
