Vermont State Police Log: Neighbors surprise gun thieves

ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police last Friday were called to investigate a burglary at a Starksboro home in which a neighbor interrupted the thieves apparently in the act of stealing guns.

According to Senior Trooper Justin Busby, Shane Manning and Kenneth Lemieux, both 23 and both from Starksboro, were surprised by a neighbor while they were inside a Shaker Hill Road home without permission at a little before 2 p.m. on March 29. The two men ran from the residence with stolen firearms and ammunition and attempted to hide down an embankment, Busby reported.

Vermont State Police Log: Addison, Bridport homes burglarized

ADDISON COUNTY — Late on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 15, Vermont State Police were called to a home on Ethan Allen Highway in New Haven for a report of an assault.

After investigating, troopers arrested Timothy J. Williams, 24, of New Haven and cited him for simple assault, second-degree aggravated domestic assault and unlawful restraint in the second degree against two individuals at the residence. Police lodged Williams at Chittenden County Correctional Center for lack of $1,000 bail.

85-year-old Bristol pedestrian killed in car accident

BRISTOL — A tragic one-car accident at the intersection of North Street and Park Place in Bristol on Saturday evening claimed the life of an 85-year-old pedestrian, Ann Roscoe of Bristol.

Bristol police responded to the scene at approximately 5:51 p.m. on Nov. 24. Roscoe was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, where she died later that evening, according to a press release from the Bristol Police Department.

The car had been operated by Ashley Nancollas, 19, of Bristol. No charges have been filed.
