By John Flowers

MIDDLEBURY — In their meeting Tuesday, the Middlebury selectboard spent time considering additional reductions to the draft 2012-2013 municipal spending plan.

It’s a budget that would require a 3.4-cent increase in the municipal tax rate in order to maintain existing services and capital improvement priorities.

MIDDLEBURY — Mark A. Snow, 41, of Middlebury on Tuesday was sentenced to five years to life in prison for sexually assaulting a young woman on Jan. 1, 2010. Following sentencing by Judge Nancy Corsones in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, Snow was taken to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility in Rutland.

“We were hoping for more, but the judge, after reviewing all the material, felt that five to life was an appropriate sentence,” said Deputy State’s Attorney Christopher Perkett.
