MIDDLEBURY — Odds are most residents of Addison County have encountered graphic designer Matt Heywood’s work, though they probably didn’t know it at the time.

CORNWALL — It took a long time for Jamie McKenna, Marcel Leduc and Dave Rossiter to choose a name for their new company.

SHOREHAM — On the south side of Shoreham’s Lemon Fair Sculpture Park, between two life-size statues of horses and a giant silver circle, sculptor Peter Lundberg is working on his latest project, a concrete piece that will tower 30 feet into the air.

The artist, known internationally for sculpting giant, concrete arcs, is setting a mold for a sculpture that will be unearthed and erected at the same site — the park is on the south side of Route 74, just past the Cornwall town line — where he is now creating it.

Government funding for the program has remained stagnant over the past five years, leaving a $10 million gap between market childcare prices and tuition assistance, and the state’s childcare providers say families are struggling to pay the difference.
