MIDDLEBURY — Residents in six of the Addison Central Supervisory Union’s (ACSU) seven member-towns will be asked on Saturday, Jan. 14, to begin charting the future operations of their schools during this era of declining enrollment and dwindling resources.
NEW HAVEN — The five-town community is mourning the death of Levi Duclos, 19, of New Haven, who died during a hiking trip that began Monday afternoon on the Emily Proctor Trail in Ripton.
MIDDLEBURY — New solar panels installed behind the Middlebury police station are now providing power to the project partners, Co-operative Insurance Companies of Middlebury, the town of Middlebury and the Acorn Renewable Energy Co-op.
The solar power array known as Acorn Energy Solar One, or AESO, is a community solar photovoltaic project organized by the Middlebury-based Acorn Renewable Energy Co-op. AESO is the legal entity that owns the 528-panel solar array.
MIDDLEBURY — In late September of last year, Middlebury Town Manager Bill Finger received notification from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that the town may have violated the Clean Water Act by dredging and armoring the East Middlebury stretch of the Middlebury River.
BRISTOL — Before Tuesday’s boys’ basketball game at Mount Abraham Union High School, both Eagle coach Bill Leggett and Otter Valley coach Nathan Bellomo said their teams were continuing to hang together and work hard despite disappointing starts.
Both the Eagles and Otters also really wanted to add a W to their résumés: OV was 2-6, including a 44-41 home win over Mount Abe. The 0-6 Eagles were coming off a last-second loss at BFA-Fairfax that their coaches said was their best effort.
