N.Y./VERMONT — Addison County’s two youth swim teams competed at different places in early February.
The Addison Otter Swim Team with their coach Peter Bicknell was in Clifton Park, N.Y., on Sunday, Feb. 9, competing in the Piranhas Pentathlon. VERGENNES — Vergennes police issued two citations this past weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The first came on Saturday night after they received a tip during the weekend snowstorm from Vermont State Police, who were helping motorists whose cars had slid off the road in Panton. A citizen who was also helping the motorists told them two women in a car that drove by were smoking marijuana, and VSP alerted Vergennes police.
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police responded to a reported domestic dispute at a Jackson Lane residence on Feb. 16. Police said a woman alleged that her ex-boyfriend had struck her in the head with a box spring. Police and prosecutors are reviewing the case for potential criminal charges.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
• Received a report of some men shouting sexual innuendoes at a woman in the Mill Street parking lot on Feb. 10. Police said they were unable to locate the men.
ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police on Feb. 13 cited Jerry Dunbar, 25, of Bridport, for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, after VSP allegedly saw him spinning out and doing “donuts” in the Vermont Fish and Wildlife fishing access just off of Route 125 in Addison. Police noted that Dunbar’s vehicle had no registration or insurance documents and the license plates were not assigned to it. State police arrested Dunbar and towed his vehicle.
MIDDLEBURY — The Addison Central Supervisory Union will not go through a formal process to consolidate its schools or governance structure — at least for now.

On the Jan. 27 deadline, Hawkins’ grandson, David Hawkins, 23, filed his paperwork for town clerk. At the same time, Garrit Smits, 31, handed in his petition for treasurer.
