FERRISBURGH — Ferrisburgh selectmen have a preliminary legal opinion that a recent petition to change zoning along parts of Route 7 cannot block a Champlain Oil Co. (COCO) proposal for a truck stop with a McDonald’s Restaurant, Jiffy Mart and fuel pumps.

MIDDLEBURY — The developers of a proposed small-scale hydroelectric operation at the base of the Otter Creek Falls in Middlebury have secured a federal OK to ramp up planning for the project, but that planning has apparently hit a snag at the local level.

MIDDLEBURY — The red-hot Middlebury College men’s basketball team opened its NESCAC schedule at home this past weekend with two more wins, bringing their streak to 10 games and their record to 14-2.
But the two league victories for Coach Jeff Brown’s Panthers couldn’t have looked much more different on the court.
