Robert Rosane

RICHFORD — Robert Edward Rosane of Richford, passed away in Worcester, Mass., on Sept. 20, 2010, with his family at his side.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date at the Congregational Church in Middlebury. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Vermont Youth Orchestra.

Mr. Rosane, Bob to family and friends, was born in Brockton, Mass., and educated at Deerfield Academy and Harvard University.

Helen Kessop

BRANDON — Helen Mary Kessop, 80, of Brandon died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, N.Y.

The graveside committal service and burial will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at noon at Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell. The Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church, will officiate.

There are no public calling hours.

She was born in Bennington on April 12, 1930. She was the daughter of Gerald and Ethel (Keith) Fowler.

Edna Root

MONKTON — Edna M. Root, 89, of Monkton died peacefully on Sept. 26, 2010.

She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Peekskill, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Agnes Marks. She lived in Peekskill until 1962 when the family moved to Vermont.

Friends are invited to attend a viewing at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Ambrose Church in Bristol. Interment will be in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol.

Joyce Meacham

MIDDLEBURY — Joyce Easter Meacham, 78, of Middlebury died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

The graveside committal service and burial will be held on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at West Side Cemetery in Salisbury. The Rev. Lucy Pellegrini, chaplain at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury, will officiate.

She was born in Boston, Mass., on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932. She was the daughter of William Maxfield and Rena Mae (Mack) Meacham.

Gayllis Paynter

PITTSFORD — Gayllis Anne Beasley Paynter of Pittsford, formerly of Reading, Mass., and Grand Coulee, Wash., died at the Wintergreen Residence in Brandon on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at the age of 86.
A simple remembrance and hymn was held during the regular service Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Pittsford Congregational Church.
She was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Ephrata, Wash., to Mildred Elizabeth Zobrist Beasley and Dr. Gaius Dexter Beasley.

Thomas Kilbourn

BRISTOL — Thomas Hiram Kilbourn, 81, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, following a 9-year battle with prostate cancer. He was born on April 5, 1929, in Bristol Village, the son of John A. and Marguerite (Fitzsimons) Kilbourn.

Tom attended Bristol schools and worked on the family farm and gristmill until it was sold. Tom then went to work in the plumbing division at UVM for 19 years. He left to manage the Kilbourn Trailer Park, Kilbourn’s Sand and Gravel and later Bristol Stor-Mor.

Christine Chaloux

SOUTH STARKSBORO — Christine Marion Chaloux, 47, died Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010, at her home in South Starksboro.
She was born June 11, 1963, in Burlington, the daughter of Amil and Dorothy (Foley) Chaloux.
She is survived by two children, Edward A. Cherrier of South Starksboro and Adessa Mae Boiselle of Arkansas; four sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, Attn.: Edward Cherrier, 381 Russell Young Road, Bristol, VT 05443.

Rachel Connor

MIDDLEBURY — Rachel E. Connor, 39, of Middlebury died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church, with the Rev. Andrew Nagy-Benson officiating. A reception followed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Thea and Ava Connor’s college funds, in care of Joseph and Jennifer Smith, 12 Meadow Way, Middlebury, VT 05753.

Born Sept. 7, 1971 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she was the daughter of Richard Harper and Chyrl Skinner.
