Patrick Henry Liberty
WESTFORD — Patrick Henry Liberty, 78, of Westford, died on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Northwestern Medical Center Hospital in St. Albans following a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease.
He was born in Starksboro on April 18, 1930, the son of the late Earl and Mary (Wright) Liberty. He married Marguerite Culver on Jan. 15, 1956, in Starksboro.
His family says he was an outdoorsman who loved horses and chickens, four-wheeling, hunting and snowmobiles.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite; two sons, Ricky and wife Brenda of Fair Haven and Ronald of Fair Haven, former daughter-in-law, Lisa, daughter Anne of Winooski; three grandchildren, including Patrick of Westford, who was raised by his grandparents; a great-grandchild who will be born in July 2009; a brother, Barnet of Huntington; a sister, Elizabeth Peno and husband Reginald of Vergennes; sister-in-law, Nina Liberty of St. Albans; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Lillian, and two brothers, Elenzer and Harold.
A memorial service will be held at the Red Brick Meeting Church in Westford at noon on Jan. 10. Burial will be private. Donations may be sent to Mrs. Marguerite Liberty, 694 Woods Hollow Road, Westford, VT 05494.
Edward Raymond Grant Jr.
LIBBY, Mont. — Edward Raymond Grant Jr., 61, of Libby, Mont., died unexpectedly on Dec. 29, 2008.
He was born in Hancock on June 15, 1947, the son of Edward and Helen (Faivre) Grant. He lived in East Middlebury for many years and attended local schools. He spent the last few years living in Libby.
