EDEN — Donna Marie (Lee) Tanner, 56, of Eden, died Jan. 21, 2009, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington after a long battle with diabetes.

She was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Middlebury, the foster daughter of Norman and Mary Rose Audet of Bridport.

Leonard E. “Sonny” Stearns

FERRISBURGH — Leonard E. “Sonny” Stearns, 67, died at home during the early morning hours of Jan. 21, 2009, following a long period of declining health. He was surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born in Charlotte on May 18, 1941, the son of Elwin and Lucy Ryder Stearns.

MOUNT HOLLY/VERGENNES — Anthony L. Susco, 63, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Rutland Regional Hospital.

He was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Burlington, the son of Joseph and Beatrice (Blaise) Susco.

Kolona O. “Kony” (Corliss) Zeno

BRISTOL, Vt./FRANKLIN, Va. — Kolona O. “Kony” (Corliss) Zeno, 76, of Franklin, Va., died Nov. 30, 2008, in her sleep. Her husband, Howard R. Zeno, 77, also of Franklin, died four days later on Dec. 4, 2008, also in his sleep.

Patrick Henry Liberty

WESTFORD — Patrick Henry Liberty, 78, of Westford, died on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Northwestern Medical Center Hospital in St. Albans following a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease.

He was born in Starksboro on April 18, 1930, the son of the late Earl and Mary (Wright) Liberty. He married Marguerite Culver on Jan. 15, 1956, in Starksboro.

His family says he was an outdoorsman who loved horses and chickens, four-wheeling, hunting and snowmobiles.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite; two sons, Ricky and wife Brenda of Fair Haven and Ronald of Fair Haven, former daughter-in-law, Lisa, daughter Anne of Winooski; three grandchildren, including Patrick of Westford, who was raised by his grandparents; a great-grandchild who will be born in July 2009; a brother, Barnet of Huntington; a sister, Elizabeth Peno and husband Reginald of Vergennes; sister-in-law, Nina Liberty of St. Albans; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Lillian, and two brothers, Elenzer and Harold.

A memorial service will be held at the Red Brick Meeting Church in Westford at noon on Jan. 10. Burial will be private. Donations may be sent to Mrs. Marguerite Liberty, 694 Woods Hollow Road, Westford, VT 05494.


Edward Raymond Grant Jr.

LIBBY, Mont. — Edward Raymond Grant Jr., 61, of Libby, Mont., died unexpectedly on Dec. 29, 2008.

He was born in Hancock on June 15, 1947, the son of Edward and Helen (Faivre) Grant. He lived in East Middlebury for many years and attended local schools. He spent the last few years living in Libby.

Ronald William White

VERGENNES — Ronald William White, 47, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

He was born Jan. 2, 1961, in Burlington, the son of William and Esther (Martell) White.

He drove for many years for ACTR and made many friends. Friends say he will be missed dearly and that he was a very giving and caring individual to many and all and would do anything he could to help his fellow man.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda White of Vergennes; a stepson, Scott Whitney and wife Mary of Charlotte; three brothers, Ricky White and wife Audrey of Vergennes, Richard Clark and wife Penny of St. George, William Clark and wife Betty of Bristol; a sister, Robin Warner and husband Tim of Panton; sisters-in-law Helen Barrows and husband Clifford of Vergennes, Shirley Barrows and husband Ray of St. George, Yvonne Lafrance and husband Moe of Milton, and Deanna Lunn and husband Roger of Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Chet Clark and wife Debbie of Bethel and Andy Clark and wife Gloria of Northfield; six grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning, Jan. 5, at Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes, with interment at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church, Vergennes, VT 05491.


Kathleen Diane “Kat” Myrick

BRIDPORT — Kathleen Diane “Kat” Myrick, 57, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008.

Born Jan. 14, 1951, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frederick A. and Kathryn M. (Giard) Myrick.
