Editor’s note: In response to a request for information on recent burglaries in Bristol, the Bristol police chief, Kevin Gibbs, provided the Independent with this letter, which he had send to a correspondent on the online Front Page Forum.
VERGENNES — Vergennes police dealt with motor vehicle accidents, verbal domestic disputes, and one case of threats made over the phone in a relatively quiet week between Oct. 31 and Nov. 6.
In those seven days, Vergennes police:
• Early in the morning on Monday, Oct. 31, saw two people run between homes on West Main and Union streets and tried unsuccessfully to find them.
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Binh Tat, 20, of Worcester, Mass., for possession and distribution of the drug “ecstasy,” following a stop for speeding on Court Street on Nov. 2. Upon questioning, police said Tat admitted to having smoked marijuana earlier that evening. Police said their search of the vehicle revealed a jar, concealed in the gas cap, containing approximately four ounces of ecstasy. Police said Tat was lodged at the Addison County Sheriff’s Department on $2,500 bail.
ADDISON COUNTY — In the past week or so, Vermont State Police charged area residents with a variety of crimes, including possession of drugs or stolen property and driving under the influence. In recent activity, troopers have:
• On Nov. 2 at 1:40 a.m. stopped a car on North Street in New Haven and ended up citing Adam Josey, 24, of Richmond for driving under the influence. Police said his blood alcohol content was 0.104 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent.

I was feeling lethargic, and was finally ready for my first real run about two weeks after the marathon alluded to in my previous post.
Addison County has experienced some unusual November weather over the last week - in the form of clear, sunny, warm conditions. To someone who enjoys watching the weather, the weather has in fact seemed a bit boring. Boring or not, the weather conditions have been wonderful for spending time outside, so I've spent the last few days enjoying the outdoors in Vermont, instead of watching the weather.
