Posted on March 26, 2018 |
By Andy Kirkaldy

FERRISBURGH — Ferrisburgh and Panton residents will have a chance to dispose of hazardous household waste locally on May 19, instead of having to take the garbage to the Addison County Solid Waste Management District transfer station in Middlebury.

At some point the trash district also plans temporary drop-off stations to serve two groups of outlying towns; one hazardous household waste collection day will serve Lincoln, Starksboro and Monkton in the northeastern part of the county, and the other will serve Whiting, Goshen and Orwell on the southern end.

Teenage girls talk freely in 'The Wolves'

Wolves Cast.jpg

Soccer skills aren’t usually a requirement for actors. In fact, most of us have probably observed the natural separation of “jocks” and “theater rats” — a bit like oil and water. But the Middlebury College Department of Theater and Dance is intentionally mixing it up by bringing actors into the field house and soccer balls onto the stage with their spring production, “The Wolves” by Sarah DeLappe.

Assistant professor Michole Biancosino is directing the cast of nine female students for this performance.

FERRISBURGH — A 34.91-acre parcel in Ferrisbrugh next to Vergennes is formally back on the market, but its listing agent said it could be a tough sell due to a four-year-old Act 250 provision.

The Ferrisburgh selectboard on Tuesday last week signed a new agreement with real estate broker Duncan Harris of Burlington’s Kingsland Company to market the property for $375,000. That’s the same asking price that has attracted three buyers, none of whom has been able to close a deal, since 2011.
