The first public hearing on the draft of the 2011 Vermont Comprehensive Energy Plan — released earlier this month — is slated for Middlebury on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 7-9 p.m. at Middlebury Union High School.

For more information and access to an electronic copy of the plan draft, head to: www.vtenergyplan.vermont.gov.

The state is providing a brief window, until Oct. 10, for the public to add their input on the draft plan, which is intended in its final form to guide Vermont’s future energy development. This Middlebury public hearing is one of five open meetings about the plan being held across the state. The other hearings will be held in Brattleboro on Sept. 28, in Rutland on Sept. 29, in Colchester on Oct. 3, and in Danville on Oct. 6.

The public may also comment on the plan via the internet at www.vtenergyplan.vermont.gov/comment, or by sending a letter to: 2011 Comprehensive Energy Plan Comments, C/o Edward Delhagen, Energy Program Specialist, Department of Public Service, 112 State Street, Montpelier, VT 05620-2601.
