Middlebury Police Log: Police respond to out-of-control teen

<p> MIDDLEBURY &mdash; Middlebury police responded to a report of an out-of-control teenager at then Porter Hospital emergency room on Aug. 2. While there, police said they encountered a distraught woman who demanded to speak to CSAC about her medical records. The woman left Porter, but called the hospital a short time later alleging that she had stabbed herself. Police went to see the woman, determined she had not harmed herself, and noted she had made an appointment to see CSAC officials.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> In other action last week, Middlebury police:</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded to a report of an unwanted ex-employee at NAPA Auto Parts on Court Street on Aug. 1.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded to a domestic dispute at a Quarry Road home on Aug. 1.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Investigated a bad check complaint filed by Middlebury Beef Supply on Route 7 South on Aug. 1.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded to a report of a person causing a disturbance at the Counseling Service of Addison County&rsquo;s (CSAC) Main Street office on Aug. 1.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Received a report of some boys throwing food onto cars in the Fire &amp; Ice parking lot on Aug. 1. Police said the boys ultimately cleaned up the debris and apologized to restaurant officials.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Arrested Gregory D. Coleman, 36, of Middlebury, on an active warrant out of Ludlow for failure to appear in court for a possession of stolen property case that police said dates back to 1997.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Received a report that some mail had been stolen from a mailbox off Buttolph Drive on Aug. 2.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Assisted an emotionally distraught woman while she was waiting for CSAC services on Aug. 2.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Received a report that someone had stolen 40 compact discs &mdash; all containing Christian music &mdash; from a vehicle parked off North Pleasant Street on Aug. 2.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Were informed that someone had left the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street without paying for $25 in gas on Aug. 2.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Received, into evidence, a used syringe found by a man near the railroad tracks off MacIntyre Lane on Aug. 3.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded to a report of a loud party in the Seminary Street neighborhood on Aug. 3.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Served a no-trespass order on a local man who was not wanted at the Middlebury Village Depot on Court Street on Aug. 4.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Received a report of someone vandalizing a car by walking on top of it while it was parked The Centre parking lot on Aug. 4.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded, with Middlebury College officials, to a report of a burning vehicle off Quarry Road on Aug. 5. Authorities theorize an electrical mishap within the vehicle might have led to the fire.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Told a visiting cyclist on Aug. 5 that he could not sleep overnight on the town green. Police said the man had set up a hammock between two trees on the green.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded to a family dispute at a Cobble Road home on Aug. 5.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Served a temporary restraining order on Aug. 5 on a man who was not wanted at a Cobble Road residence.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Investigated a domestic dispute in the parking lot of the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on Aug. 7.</p><p class="Bodycopy" style=""> &bull;<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Responded to a report of someone leaving the scene of an accident on Route 7 South on Aug. 8. Police said it appeared as though a driver knocked down a stop sign at the intersection of Route 7 and East Main Street.</p>
