VERGENNES — The clash between the No. 2 seed Vergennes Coomodores and the No. 3 BFA-Fairfax Bullets was cancelled today and rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, June 14, at 5 p.m. at Vergennes Union High School.
The game had been already moved from Tuesday to Wednesday at Fairfax’s request because the school had a graduation ceremony for its technical students and a home baseball playoff game both already scheduled on Tuesday. Then the game on Wednesday was suspended in the bottom of the first inning because it was raining so hard. The Commodores were winning at that point, 2-0.
The game was postponed again on Thursday and Friday because of the weather. But clear skies are forecast for Saturday.
The game will be resumed onSaturday exactly as it ended on Wednesday when umpires halted play due to the weather, with Commodore runners on first and second and nobody out.
The winner of the semifinal between the 16-2 Commodores and 17-0 defending champion Bullets will face No. 5 Otter Valley for the D-II title on Monday at a time to be announced at the Poultney Recreation Field.
