MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on March 26 received a request from a local woman to destroy what was allegedly a bag of heroin that she had found in her husband’s laundry.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Quieted a noisy Jayne Court couple who said they were “play wrestling” while watching the TV show “Duck Dynasty” on March 24.

•  Cited Matthew S. Miller, 21, of Salisbury for retail theft, after he was caught allegedly stealing Vermont Lottery scratch-off tickets from Champlain Farms on Court Street on March 24.

•  Responded to a reported domestic dispute at a Jayne Court residence on March 25.

•  Recovered on March 25, from the Route 7 South area, some property that had previously been reported as stolen. Investigation into the incident continues.

•  Responded to a dispute between Seymour Street neighbors about children playing outdoors on March 25.

•  Contacted FairPoint Communications about a possible telephone scam affecting lines in the Porter Drive area.

•  Took into protective custody an older golden retriever dog seen walking off Court Street on March 25. Police are trying to find the owner.

•  Responded to a domestic dispute at a Jayne Court residence on March 26.

•  Served a no-trespass order on March 26 on a Seymour Street resident who was no longer wanted at a Woodbridge Lane residence.

•  Responded to a report of a Middlebury Union High School student damaging another student’s property on March 26.

•  Investigated an alleged theft in the Washington Street neighborhood on March 26.

•  Responded to a report of someone banging on the door of the warming shelter on South Pleasant Street after hours on March 26.

•  Assisted Middlebury rescue officials with a patient suffering with mental health issues in the Jayne Court area on March 27.

•  Helped Addison County Sheriff’s Department deputies with a patient at Porter Hospital on March 27.

•  Assisted an MUHS student who reported receiving threatening messages from a student at another school on March 27.

•  Intervened in a verbal argument between two local residents on March 27.

• Cited Robert R. Petty, 27, of Middlebury for retail theft, after an officer allegedly observed him steal, conceal and consume a beer inside of a Washington Street business on March 28.

•  Ticketed a Whiting resident for driving with a suspended license on Court Street Extension on March 28.

•  Investigated a report of someone driving erratically on Case Street and East Main Street on March 28.

•  Destroyed a pill that had been found on the floor of the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on March 28.

•  Investigated a reported burglary at a Valley View apartment on March 28. Police said someone stole some electronic items from the home. Police said they have no suspects at this time.

•  Assisted a local man who reported receiving unwanted texts and calls from another person on March 29.

•  Investigated a report of a woman leaving an infant alone in a vehicle parked at The Centre shopping plaza lot on March 29.

•  Received a set of keys that had been found in the Maple Street area on March 29.

•  Were informed of a car accident, with no injuries, on Elm Street on March 29.

•  Assisted Porter Hospital staff with an aggressive patient on March 30.

•  Helped Middlebury Regional EMS officials with a patient who was having mental health issues in the Lower Plains Road area on March 30.

•  Checked on the welfare of two young girls who had been locked in a car by themselves in the Hannaford Supermarket lot on March 30.

•  Checked on what was termed a “suspicious” vehicle parked on East Main Street on March 30. The vehicle checked out OK, according to police.
