Bristol Works to celebrate success at open house

BRISTOL — Since launching in the heart of downtown in 2011, the Bristol Works business park boasts about a dozen tenants across manufacturing, healthcare and energy sectors. On Friday, the community is invited to come see for themselves during an open house on the campus, which is located at Munsill Avenue and Pine Street.

Dental center planned at Bristol Works

BRISTOL — Organizers of  a proposed Addison County Dental Center have applied for $300,000 in Vermont Community Development Program funds to equip a new facility that would provide dental care to people of all income levels in a new office in the Bristol Works industrial park off Pine Street.

“If we get the grant, we know we will be able to go forward and it will be full speed ahead,” said Peg Martin, a leader of the Addison County Dental Center effort.

Local kombucha company expanding in Bristol

BRISTOL — When husband-wife duo Jeff Weaber and Katina Martin moved back to Addison County in 2005, Martin — a naturopathic physician — founded Salisbury Natural Family Health the following year.

Weaber, with his years of brewing experience in Oregon, decided to combine his and his wife’s skillsets to create a beverage high in vitamins and probiotic yeast and bacteria: kombucha, a slightly fermented tea first produced in Asia. In the autumn of 2007, the kombucha company Aqua Vitea was born in the basement of Weaber and Martin’s Salisbury home.

Bristol Works adds a physicians' practice, more growth on the way

BRISTOL — The ongoing revitalization of Bristol’s industrial park took a big leap forward this week with confirmation that the campus will soon welcome a substantial local physicians’ practice and a new pharmacy.

Porter Medical Center officials on Monday reported that Bristol Internal Medicine (BIM), now located at 6 Park Place, will relocate this summer to a soon-to-be-renovated, 7,680-square-foot vacancy in the Bristol Works complex at the corner of Munsill Avenue and Pine Street.

Bristol Works earns permit to open doors

BRISTOL — After two months of heated public debate and careful consideration, the Bristol Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) has voted 7-0 in favor of issuing the Bristol Works business campus “a comprehensive conditional use permit” for the 5.5-acre space previously occupied by cosmetics manufacturer Autumn Harp.

Bristol business park ready for diverse tenants

BRISTOL — The industrial park at the corner of Bristol’s Munsill Avenue and Pine Street has been freshly renovated, renamed Bristol Works and is welcoming its first tenants.

The 5.5-acre site, which has been used for industry since 1897, last hosted cosmetics manufacturer Autumn Harp Inc., which was until it left in 2009 the largest employer in Bristol.
