RIPTON — The Vermont Drug Task Force, a unit of the Vermont State Police, arrested Maleek Drummond, 31, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 14 in Ripton and charged him with trafficking heroin and possession of marijuana.
Members of the task force, other troopers and deputies from the Rutland County Sheriff's Department searched a Ripton home last Thursday, following an investigation into heroin trafficking. Drummond was the only person in the house.
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on June 16 were called to the Lodge at Otter Creek retirement community and told by administrators that one of the residents, Robert Evans Sr., may have been abducted by his son. Lodge officials told police that Evans’ son picked him up for coffee at 10:30 a.m. but never returned.
BRISTOL — Bristol police handled a variety of typical calls between June 6 and June 12. During that period, officers:
• On June 6, responded to Hinesburg. A Hinesburg officer was pursuing a wanted subject on foot. No one could reach the Hinesburg officer by radio and the Bristol officer was closest to him. En route, the Bristol officer found that the subject was in custody but the officer didn’t have backup. He and a state trooper assisted the Hinesburg officer.
