VERGENNES — Vergennes officials said at the city council meeting last week that they and a petitioner against aldermen’s endorsement of the proposed Addison County extension of the Vermont Gas Systems pipeline had mutually agreed to postpone his formal presentation of that petition.

Jeff Margolis had been on the Oct. 22 agenda, but instead, aldermen will hold what they expect to be a brief special meeting in city hall at 6 p.m. this Tuesday to accept a petition.

VERGENNES — At their Oct. 22 city council meeting, Vergennes aldermen agreed with South Water Street homeowner Didier Murat on the sale terms for a city-owned strip of land that bisects his property that is technically an extension of Victory Street. BRISTOL — On paper, Saturday’s Division III football quarterfinal looked like it should be a close game. The host No. 4 Eagles were 6-2, visiting Otter Valley was 5-2, and both had similar results vs. common foes.

Instead, the Otters played what Coach Jim Hill said might have been their best game of the season, and left Bristol with a 49-0 victory.
