Editorial: Bernie's not-so-bad Tuesday

Posted on March 3, 2016 |
By Angelo Lynn

America, Feel the Bern.

Hillary, certainly, is feeling the heat. Consider that if Sen. Sanders had collected an additional half percentage point in Massachusetts he would have won five primaries to Clinton’s six on a day that heavily favored Clinton’s strongest base of support. But for that half percentage point, the headlines would have been dramatically different.

Editorial: Revolution in our schools?

Posted on March 3, 2016 |
By Angelo Lynn

While Vermont’s junior senator Bernie Sanders is proclaiming a political revolution in his race for the Democratic presidential nomination, a quieter revolution is underway within Vermont’s schools. Eric Davis: Support of Rubio could hurt Scott

Posted on March 3, 2016 |
By Eric Davis

Last Friday, Lt. Gov. Phil Scott announced that he would vote for Sen. Marco Rubio in the Republican primary. Less than a week before, Scott had introduced Gov. John Kasich at a campaign event in Colchester.

When asked why he supported Rubio over Kasich, Scott replied that Kasich, as governor of Ohio, had signed a bill to prevent state funding of Planned Parenthood, an organization that, in Scott’s opinion, did “incredible work.” Scott added that Rubio “can build consensus within the party.”
