ADDISON COUNTY — When voters in Addison County go to the polls for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, they will have several contested races for Vermont House seats.
In the past few months the Addison Independent has published profiles of candidates involved in competitive elections. Click on the links below to read about these candidates.

We, the Bridport Seniors, wish to inform you of how impressed we are with Michelle Eastman. On Aug. 20, one of our most aged seniors became choked while eating. Michelle was on her feet immediately, saying, “Call 911.” Then she began to perform the Heimlich maneuver.

Gov. Shumlin, you have been a vocal proponent of the Gaz Métro Vermont Gas Phase II proposal, which will carry fracked gas from Alberta, Canada, through Addison County to the Ticonderoga, N.Y., International Paper mill. Like many of my fellow Middlebury residents, I am interested in supporting the best ideas and in encouraging the most well motivated people to work on behalf of Middlebury and Vermont. Recently I’ve encountered a fresh voice among us, someone who is not afraid of hard work and who has no more patience with the same old tired “politics as usual” than I do. I think that you will want to remember his name; it is Calvin McEathron.
