BRISTOL — Bristol police are still seeking the public’s help in finding out who attempted to rob the National Bank of Middlebury branch office on Main Street on Jan. 13.

As reported in the Jan. 18 Addison Independent, at 11:10 that Saturday morning a woman approximately 5-foot-5 wearing a heavy red checked coat gave the teller a note demanding money but fled on foot before getting anything. The suspect was seen leaving the area in what was described as an older green Subaru Impreza, eastbound on East Street toward Starksboro.

The subject was described as a female.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Bristol Police Department at 802-453-2533.

In other activity between Jan. 8 and 14, Bristol police on 12 occasions conducted foot patrols at various locations — including on Mountain and Main streets, around downtown and near Bristol Elementary School. Officers also on Jan. 14 completed 30 minutes of directed patrol at an unspecified intersection after receiving complaints of traffic violations, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School seven times. An officer completed fingerprint requests for individuals seeking volunteer and paid employment three times over that period.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  On Jan. 9 assisted Vergennes police in an on-going criminal investigation.

•  On Jan. 9 an officer presented information to students at an area school without incident.

•  On Jan. 10 assisted a person to obtain medical assistance.

•  On Jan. 10 participated in a diversion program.
