MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Daryn T. Barsalou, 20, of Bristol for reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and violating the term of his release, after he allegedly pointed a gun at another person at the McDonald’s restaurant off Court Street Extension on Sunday, March 27, at shortly after 9 p.m.

Police officers were then subjected to complaints and epithets from a drunken man (not Barsalou) who complained about the McDonald’s counter being closed during the investigation of the gun incident, thereby delaying the man’s opportunity to buy a burger. Police said they placed the man in the custody of his sober fiancée.

In a related police call, the next day at a little before noon, Vermont State Police responded to a report of a verbal dispute involving Barsalou at the McDonald’s restaurant on Route 7 in Ferrisburgh. Barsalou left the McDonald’s before troopers arrived, but he voluntarily came to the state police barracks in New Haven. There Barsalou was taken into custody and cited for violating an abuse prevention order and for violating conditions of release by being at the McDonald’s and having contact with a juvenile on the premises.

State police lodged Barsalou at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility; bail was set at $500.
