MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Ashleigh Hickey, 23, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, second offense, and driving with a suspended license, following an incident in the Meadow Glen Drive neighborhood on Oct. 29.

A witness alleged that Hickey had been driving erratically through the neighborhood, including onto fields and over people’s lawns, according to police. Authorities said they measured Hickey’s blood-alcohol content at 0.195 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

• Responded to a report of two dogs attacking a pedestrian on Exchange Street on Oct. 26. Police said they verified that the dogs had not been aggressive in the past and confirmed that the animals were up to date on their shots.

• Investigated a suspected stalking case in the South Pleasant Street area on Oct. 26.

• Were informed of the theft of some headphones and a black/blue Adidas gym bag from the boys’ locker room at Middlebury Union High School on Oct. 26.

• Served a no-trespass order on Oct. 27 on a person who was not wanted at the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street.

• Investigated a violation of the town’s open burning ordinance at a Woodland Park residence on Oct. 27.

• Responded to a report of a Middlebury Union Middle School student allegedly selling marijuana to another student on campus on Oct. 27. Police continue to investigate.

• Transferred, to the custody of a parent, an MUHS student who was out of control and who had attempted to leave school grounds without permission on Oct. 27.

• Assisted an MUHS student who had received some abusive text messages on Oct. 27.

• Helped a female MUHS student who reported having received “unwanted physical attention” from another student on Oct. 27.

• Responded to a reported fight in the parking lot of a Court Street Extension business on Oct. 28. Police said the dispute was verbal in nature and the participants left the area in separate vehicles.

• Were informed of the alleged theft of some drugs from a South Pleasant Street apartment on Oct. 28.

• Received a report, from the Vermont Department for Children and Families, of a possible case of lewd and lascivious conduct against a child in the Woodbridge Lane neighborhood on Oct. 28. The case remains under investigation, police said.

• Responded to a noise complaint at a South Village Green apartment building on Oct. 29.

• Received a report about a man allegedly stealing a pair of boots from Green Mountain Shoe & Apparel in The Centre shopping plaza on Oct. 29. Police said the case remains under investigation.

• Removed tree limbs from the middle of School House Hill Road on Oct. 29.

• Were informed of the theft of some headphones from the Chellis House on Hillcrest Road on Oct. 30.

• Advised Bristol police about a local resident who had allegedly talked about harming herself on Oct. 30.

• Assisted Vermont Adult Protective Services on a case in the Blake Roy Road area on Oct. 30.

• Helped a father check on the welfare of his son at a local residence on Oct. 30. Police said the youth was located safe in the Case Street area.

• Responded to an open container violation on Main Street on Oct. 30.

• Received a report of an unresponsive youth in a vehicle parked in the St. Mary’s Church lot off College Street on Oct. 30. Police said the youth was released into the custody of his mother.

• Responded to an open container violation in the Main Street area on Oct. 30.

• Were informed that someone had used a bottle to damage a window on a MacIntyre Lane building on Oct. 31.

• Received a tip about possible illegal drug activity at a North Pleasant Street residence on Oct. 31.

• Arrested Jerry Hoffman, 23, of Middlebury on an outstanding warrant on Oct. 31. Police said Hoffman turned himself in at the police headquarters. Police turned Hoffman over to the Addison County Sheriff’s Department for transportation to jail.

• Issued diversion paperwork for open container violations to “multiple college students” at the intersection of Cross and South Pleasant streets on Oct. 31.

• Responded to a loud Middlebury College student party at a Cross Street residence on Oct. 31. Police issued a noise warning to the tenants and issued diversion paperwork to several college students for open container and underage drinking.

• Were informed of a “loud college party” at a college residence on Cross Street on Oct. 31. Police said Middlebury College Public Safety responded to the scene.

• Were asked, by a Valley View woman, to contact an ex-boyfriend on Nov. 1 to order him not to call her anymore.

• Assisted a Vermont State Police trooper in breaking up a family fight at a Monkton Road residence on Nov. 1.

• Responded to an assault complaint in the Porter Drive area on Nov. 1.

• Assisted in resolving a family dispute at a Fred Johnson Circle residence on Nov. 1.

• Issued court diversion paperwork for possession of alcohol to some juveniles riding in a vehicle that had been pulled over for a traffic violation on Buttolph Drive on Nov. 1.

• Issued court diversion paperwork to a youth for being a minor in possession of alcohol on Middlebury College campus on Nov. 1.
