MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police responded to a report of a man attempting to harm himself in the Marble Works business complex on Sunday, March 29.

Police located the man, who was taken to Porter Hospital for evaluation.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Were informed on March 23 that a man was missing from a Route 7 South home. The man eventually returned home, police said.

•  Responded to the report of a verbal fight on South Pleasant Street. Police said the parties had calmed down upon their arrival.

•  Assisted the Counseling Service of Addison County in taking a man to Porter Hospital for evaluation on March 23.

•  Received a report of a possible theft from Kinney Drugs that was picked up on the store surveillance system on March 23. The investigation continues.

•  Responded to a verbal domestic dispute on Valley View Drive at the Briarwood apartments on March 24. Police said both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

•  Investigated a report of a man consuming alcohol inside a vehicle on North Pleasant Street on March 24. Police were unable to locate vehicle.

•  Issued a warning to a Rutland man for consuming alcohol on Merchants Row on March 24.

•  Served a temporary restraining order on a man at the Lindale Trailer Park on Skyline Drive on March 24.

•  Responded to noise complaints on Seminary and Court streets on March 24.

•  Assisted Vermont State Police in looking for a vehicle in the Leno Lane area on March 26.

•  Received a report about a man lying in a ditch on East Main Street on March 26. The man had left before police arrived.

•  Responded to two separate verbal disputes between the same Woodbridge Lane couple on March 26. Police said the arguing couple agreed to separate for the evening.

•  Investigated a report of someone punching a mailbox on Case Street on March 26. Police found an intoxicated youth in the area, and turned him over to his mother.

•  Investigated a report of gunshots in the Washington Street Extension area on March 27. Police could not find the source of the gunfire.

•  Ticketed a driver with a suspended license on MacIntyre Lane on March 27.

•  Attempted to locate a vehicle suspected to have been involved in a Vergennes bank robbery, on Route 7 South on March 27.

•  Were asked to check on a Court Street dog that would not stop barking on March 27.

•  Were informed that a Middlebury Union Middle School student was “causing a disruption” in the school hallway on March 27. Police said one of the student’s family members took him home.

•  Fielded a call about an elderly driver operating erratically on Court Street Extension on March 28.

•  Responded to a verbal argument between husband and wife in the Court Street neighborhood on March 28.

•  Responded to a report of a drunken man walking away from Porter Hospital on March 29. Police found the man, whose girlfriend eventually came to collect him.

•  Investigated a report of someone spinning their tires on Valley View Drive on March 29.

•  Assisted a person who was having trouble with a cell phone company on March 29.

•  Received a report that a laptop had been stolen from Middlebury College campus on March 29.

•  Responded to a reported dispute at Greg’s Meat Market on March 29. Police said it was a civil complaint and they served a no-trespass order against a man involved in the dispute.

•  Ticketed a man for driving with a suspended license on Court Street Extension on March 29.

•  Issued court diversion paperwork on a youth who had been drinking alcohol at a party at a Peterson Terrace home on March 29.
