MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police investigated a burglary at a South Street residence on Dec. 31. Police said someone allegedly broke into a locked safe sometime during the past seven years and stole “several thousand dollars” worth of items.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Middlebury police at 388-3191.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Responded to a noise complaint in the South Pleasant Street neighborhood on Dec. 29.

•  Assisted Bristol police with a family fight on Dec. 31.

•  Conducted a health and welfare check on Jan. 1 on an elderly Commodore Way resident who had fallen more than a day prior and was unable to get up after suffering a medical event.
