VERGENNES — Vergennes police dealt with three Main Street motor vehicle accidents on Sunday, including one that sent the driver of a motorcycle to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington for treatment.

That accident occurred at the intersection of Main Street with MacDonough Drive, and police said the motorcycle collided with a truck.

The other two accidents were more minor and involved only damage to vehicles. Three cars earlier in the day were involved in an accident at the intersection of Main and North Maple streets, and two cars collided on Main Street.

In other action between April 29 and May 5, Vergennes police:

•  On April 29 helped the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad with an elderly patient on East Street.

•  On April 29 drove a drunken woman who was being disruptive at the Hillside Acres apartments to a friend’s home to calm down.

•  On April 29 dealt for the first of three times with a man who was breaking up with his girlfriend at a School Street residence; police said he called that day to report a dispute. On May 1 he called to say his girlfriend had stolen his EBT card and was not allowing him access to his belongings; police advised him to go through Family Court to resolve the issues. On May 2 the man said the woman was suicidal and threatening to kill her cat; police said they found her in good spirits on South Maple Street and she denied his statements.

•  On April 30 were told an inspection sticker had been stolen from a car, probably from the Shaw’s parking lot.

•  On April 30 went to back up Vermont State Police on Hardscrabble Road in Bristol, where a troubled male had tried to burn a house down and then run off into a field.

•  On April 30 went to Quaker Street in Ferrisburgh to help VSP calm a family fight.

•  On April 30 told a woman not to make threatening phone calls to a female Hillside Acres resident.

•  On April 30 called the Counseling Service of Addison County to help a troubled woman on North Maple Street.

•  On April 30 helped a motorist get into a locked car on Main Street.

•  On May 1 cited a 17-year-old male for domestic assault at a Mountain View Lane home for allegedly punching his father during a dispute about house rules; the youth was taken into Department of Children and Families custody and taken to the Woodside juvenile facility.

•  On May 1 were told that a man’s soon-to-be ex-wife had assaulted him at the City Limits nightclub four days before, an incident that remains under investigation.

•  On May 1 found someone to get water and food to a dog tied up all day outside a First Street home; police planned to speak to the dog’s owner about proper care.

•  On May 2 told a woman to return a cell phone to a man who had told police she had stolen it from him.

•  On May 3 shot a sick fox in the West Main Street area.

•  On May 3 spoke to a young teenage boy who had allegedly said he planned to sexually assault a girl.

•  On May 3 took a report of a minor hit-and-run accident that occurred at Vergennes Union High School.

•  On May 3 handled a Walker Avenue noise complaint triggered by a man yelling at his cat not to use his neighbor’s flower bed as a litter box.

•  On May 4 secured an open door at a Green Street business after hearing an alarm.

•  On May 4 checked the welfare of a Main Street resident, who was found to be fine.

•  On May 5 took a report of suspicious activity: A citizen said the operator of an ATV dropped a bag by the side of a road, and that someone else came and picked it up.

•  On May 5 secured an open door at an empty Panton Road building.
