STAN PRATT PICKS up crates of apples at Kent Ridge Orchard in New Haven Tuesday afternoon. Pratt is leasing the orchard to supplement his crop at Middlebury’s Happy Valley Orchard, which was hit by spring frosts and a damaging summer hail storm.
