• A netbook for every student: Fifth-graders at Mount Abe last week received Dell netbooks that they will use at home and at school for the rest of the year, part of an Internet accessibility grant that the town of Bristol received.

• Ferrisburgh eyes energy-saving effort: The town is considering the possibility of backing long-term efficiency loans for homeowners looking to do energy-efficiency upgrades.

• Juice turned on at new Route 7 solar facility: The $5 million Ferrisburgh Solar Farm project went on line last week during a ceremonial reception that included Beatles music, strobe lights and sunglasses.
